One wall, completely rethought

Most living rooms are organized around a TV hanging on a plain wall. We rebuild that wall as a single piece of furniture: acoustic slat panels, a stone column, hidden storage, a projector or TV floated in light — and every cable gone.

Common questions

How much does a media wall cost in Los Angeles?

A walnut slat TV accent wall starts at $2,500. A full media wall — panels, stone, floating cabinet and LED lighting — starts at $7,500. A stone and marble feature wall starts at $9,800. Size, stone choice and extras like a hidden door move the number; you always get a written estimate before work starts. Full breakdown on the cost page.

How does the free design preview work?

Send a straight-on photo of the wall and rough measurements through the estimate form. We return a realistic preview of your room with the panels, stone and lighting in place, so you approve the exact look — and the price — before anything is ordered.

How long does installation take?

A single TV accent wall is usually finished in 1–2 days. A full media wall with stone and cabinetry typically takes 3–5 days on site once materials are ready. We confirm the schedule in writing before we start.

Can you really hide the cables — and a door?

Yes. Cables run inside the wall build-out, equipment lives in the floating cabinet, and a doorway inside the panel field can be skinned with matching slats so it reads as part of the wall. It still opens and closes like a normal door.

Send a photo of your room. See your wall before we build it.

The design preview is free and there is no obligation — most clients tell us it is what made the decision easy.

Walnut slat TV accent wall with acoustic panels and amber LED backlight behind the screen — design concept

What it includes

  • Walnut-veneer slat panels or acoustic panels with a felt core that calms room echo
  • Backlit TV frame in warm 2700K LED, dimmable
  • All power and HDMI runs inside the build-out — nothing dangling
  • Optional floating shelf or low cabinet under the screen

Installed in 1–2 days in most Los Angeles homes. Works with TVs and with ultra-short-throw projectors on a motorized tray.

Our signature composition: slat panels, a black marble column, a floating cabinet, layered light — and a door you cannot see. Designed as one piece, built as one piece.

What it includes

  • Stone or marble column with matched veining
  • Walnut slat field with an optional hidden door, skinned in matching slats
  • Floating cabinet with concealed, ventilated equipment storage
  • Three layers of light: screen backlight, under-cabinet wash, stone edge glow
  • TV mounting or a UST projector setup with a motorized slider tray

Home / Styles / Stone & Marble

Stone & Marble Feature Wall

Full-height stone, cut so the veining flows across the joints. The most dramatic wall we build — and the one guests ask about.

Angled view of a black marble feature wall with white veining beside walnut slat panels — design concept

What it includes

  • Natural black marble with white veining, or large-format porcelain for a lighter budget and weight
  • Book-matched or flow-matched veining across panels
  • Edge lighting that rakes across the stone so the grain reads at night
  • Pairs with slat fields, fireplace inserts and floating cabinetry

Stone is quoted per wall after a site look — slab selection changes the price more than labor does. We show you the actual slab options before you commit.

Home / Styles / Fireplace Wall

Fireplace Media Wall

A linear electric fireplace set into stone or slats, TV floated above it, mantel optional. Two focal points, one wall, zero conflict.

Fireplace media wall design concept with stone surround, walnut slats and a floating cabinet

What it includes

  • Linear electric fireplace insert, sized to the wall
  • Heat-clearance engineering so the TV above stays safe
  • Stone, porcelain or slat surround, matched to the rest of the build
  • Recessed niche or floating mantel shelf, lit from below

Electric inserts need no venting or gas line, which keeps them legal and simple in condos and apartments across Los Angeles. Priced per project after the design preview.

Home / Styles / Whole-Home Accent Walls

Whole-Home Accent Walls

This is the DecorWall LA difference. Most installers stop at the TV wall. We carry the same panel language through the whole home, so the design reads as one idea instead of one decorated corner.

Accent panel wall designed for a real client living room, shown as a design concept preview

Where panels earn their keep

  • Primary bedroom — a slat or upholstered headboard wall that makes the room feel finished
  • Hallways — a slatted run with a hidden door to a closet, bath or laundry
  • Home office — an acoustic backdrop that looks sharp on video calls and sounds better too
  • Entryway — the first wall a guest sees, set in stone or slats

Whole-home work is priced per project: we walk the home (or work from photos), design each wall in the same material family, and quote the package in writing. Bundling walls into one project is almost always cheaper per wall than doing them one at a time.

Media Wall Cost in Los Angeles

Straight starting numbers, published on purpose. Your exact price comes as a written estimate after the free design preview — and it does not drift upward mid-project.

ProjectStarting atWhat drives the final price
TV accent wall — walnut slat / acoustic panels $2,500 Wall width, panel material (veneer slats vs. acoustic felt-core), backlit frame, added shelving or cabinet.
Full media wall — panels + stone + cabinet + LED $7,500 Stone selection, cabinet length, hidden door, projector setup vs. TV mount, number of light layers.
Stone & marble feature wall $9,800 Natural marble vs. large-format porcelain, wall area, veining match, edge lighting.
Fireplace wall By quote Insert size and brand, surround material, mantel and niche work. Quoted after the design preview.
Floating cabinet (standalone) By quote Length, finish, ventilation and cable routing. Often included inside a full media wall build.
Whole-home accent walls By quote Number of walls and rooms. Packaged projects price lower per wall than one-off installs.

Starting prices are for typical Los Angeles living-room walls (up to ~14 ft wide, 9 ft ceilings) with standard materials, installed. Your written estimate is exact for your wall.

What the estimate covers

  • Design preview of your actual room, before you commit
  • All materials: panels, stone, cabinetry, LED systems and hardware
  • Installation labor, TV mounting or projector setup
  • In-wall cable runs and equipment concealment
  • Wall prep and touch-up where the build-out meets existing surfaces
  • Cleanup and a final walkthrough with controls set up

What it does not hide

No line-item fog. If your wall needs electrical moved, drywall repaired beyond the build-out, or a permit-triggering change, we say so in the estimate — before work starts, not on the final invoice. Change orders only happen with your written OK.

Payment is staged around milestones, never all up front. The schedule is part of the written estimate.

Home / Process

From Photo to Finished Wall

The whole design stage happens from your couch. Here is exactly how a DecorWall LA project runs, step by step.

01

Share a photo of your room

Use the estimate form to send one straight-on photo of the wall, rough width and height, and your ZIP. Tell us the style you are drawn to — or say “show me options” and we will design two directions.

02

Agree the design — and the price

We return a photorealistic preview of your room with the wall built in, plus a written estimate with staged payments. We adjust materials, stone and lighting until it is right. Nothing is ordered before you approve both.

03

Build & finish

On site: build-out and framing, stone, panels, cabinetry, in-wall cable runs, lighting and the screen or projector. Floors and furniture are protected, and the room is left clean each day. Accent walls take 1–2 days; full media walls 3–5.

04

Walkthrough & handover

We walk the wall with you line by line: seams, stone match, door action, light scenes. Remotes and app controls are set up before we leave, and the written estimate is reconciled against the finished work.

Finished media wall detail showing slat field, stone column and layered LED lighting — design concept

Why the preview matters

A media wall is a big, permanent decision made from small samples — that is how people end up with the wrong stone or slats that fight the floor color. Our preview removes the guesswork: you see your sofa, your light, your wall, finished. It is also our build document, so the crew installs exactly what you approved.

Home / Materials & Lighting

Materials & Lighting

Four material families and one lighting system do almost all of our work. Here is what each one is, and how to choose.

Close view of walnut wood slat acoustic panels with vertical grain — design concept

Walnut slat & acoustic panels

Real walnut veneer slats on a dark backing. The acoustic version carries a felt core that absorbs echo — in hard-floored LA living rooms the sound difference is obvious the first movie night. Slats also skin our hidden doors, so the door grain continues the field.

Black marble slab with dramatic white veining used on a media wall column — design concept

Stone & marble

Our signature is black marble with white veining, flow-matched so the grain runs through the joints. Large-format porcelain gives a similar read at lower weight and cost, and is the practical pick for very wide walls and condos with freight-elevator limits.

Floating matte black media cabinet with concealed storage, angled view — design concept

Floating cabinets

Wall-hung, handle-less cabinetry in matte black or matching walnut. Ventilated compartments for consoles and receivers, a shelf engineered for an ultra-short-throw projector (including motorized slider trays), and cable channels that keep the underside clean — the under-cabinet light wash only works because nothing hangs below it.

Media wall lighting detail: warm LED backlight halo around the screen and under the cabinet — design concept

The lighting system

Three layers, all warm 2700K and dimmable: a halo behind the screen, a wash under the cabinet, and an edge glow along the stone or slat reveal. Scenes are set for movie, evening and off, controlled by remote or phone. Light temperature is matched across layers so the wall never looks patched together.

Ultra-short-throw projector on a motorized tray inside a media wall with walnut panels — design concept

TV or projector?

Both live happily in our walls. A TV mounts flush inside a backlit frame. An ultra-short-throw projector sits on the cabinet — on a motorized tray that slides out for movie night and disappears after — throwing a 100–120″ image onto an ambient-light-rejecting screen. If you are undecided, the design preview can show your room both ways.

Home / FAQ

Media Wall Questions, Answered

Costs, timelines, condos, cables and hidden doors — the things Los Angeles clients ask before they book.

How much does a media wall cost?

TV accent walls start at $2,500, full media walls at $7,500, and stone & marble feature walls at $9,800. Fireplace walls, standalone cabinets and whole-home packages are quoted per project. See the cost page for what moves the price.

Is the design preview really free?

Yes. Send a photo and measurements, and we return a photorealistic preview of your room with the wall designed in, plus a written estimate. There is no obligation and no charge — it is how we quote accurately.

How long does installation take?

TV accent walls: 1–2 days. Full media walls with stone and cabinetry: 3–5 days on site once materials are ready. Whole-home packages are scheduled room by room and confirmed in writing.

Do you supply the TV or projector?

We mount and set up your equipment, and we can advise on sizing before you buy. Projector setups — including motorized slider trays and ALR screens — are part of many of our builds; equipment itself is usually purchased by the client so warranties stay in your name.

What happens to my existing cables and outlets?

Power and signal runs move inside the wall build-out. Equipment sits in the floating cabinet with ventilation, and the wall face ends up clean — no visible wires, no power bricks on the floor.

How does the hidden door work?

A standard door inside the panel field is skinned with the same slats, on concealed hinges with a flush pull. Closed, it reads as part of the wall; it opens and closes normally. It is the detail clients show their guests first.

I live in a condo. Is that a problem?

Usually not. Electric fireplace inserts need no venting, porcelain stone keeps weight down, and we work within building rules on hours, elevators and insurance paperwork. Tell us your building’s requirements in the estimate form.

Can you do walls beyond the living room?

That is our specialty — see whole-home accent walls. Bedrooms, hallways, offices and entryways in the same material family as your media wall, priced as one package.

What do payments look like?

Staged around milestones and written into the estimate — never everything up front. You approve the design and the exact price before any payment is due.

Still deciding? The preview decides it.

One photo is all it takes to see your finished wall.

Home / About

About DecorWall LA

A Los Angeles studio built around one idea: the TV wall should be the best-designed surface in the house — and the rest of the home should match it.

Design preview of a media wall created for a Los Angeles client's living room

Why we exist

DecorWall LA grew out of years of finish carpentry and remodeling work across Los Angeles, where the same scene kept repeating: a beautiful renovation, and in the middle of it a TV screwed to a bare wall with cables showing. We started designing the wall itself — panels, stone, light, hidden storage — and clients began asking for the same treatment in bedrooms, hallways and offices. That whole-home demand is why DecorWall LA exists as its own studio.

How we work

Design first, from your photo, so you approve the real thing instead of imagining it from samples. Written estimates with staged payments. One local team from first sketch to final walkthrough — no hand-offs, no surprises on the invoice.
